Thank you for joining us at Merchandise World

I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days exhibiting at Merchandise World a couple of weeks ago and wanted to write a blog post about my experience. For those of you who don’t know, Merchandise World is an exhibition, visited by leading professional distributors from across the UK & Ireland, based in Milton Keynes.

The exhibition is just a one-day show but I got there the day before to help set up our shell stand. Both the show and event staff were friendly and helpful throughout the exhibition. I have not been part of a Trade Show for several years, but the staff were on hand if we needed any help. They also kept us fed and watered throughout the show which was much appreciated.

The doors opened to visitors at 9am on Wednesday 11th September and we were happy to see floods of eager distributors immediately coming our way. It was great to meet a lot of existing customers and show them where we are going as a company, so a big thanks to everyone who popped in to say hello. We were also pleased to see some new faces, who were keen to hear all about our range of services and enter our competition too!

I always wear a suit when I am visiting a customer or going to a show, but I have to say that the branded workwear worn by a lot of the other exhibitors also looked great. Walking around the other stands it was easy to see the hard work that had been put into their design and the quality of the advertising on the stands themselves was impressive. There were some truly inspiring stands!

Since the exhibition I’ve been thinking about what impressed me in terms of the branded workwear and product giveaways from other exhibitors. A few things were immediately apparent! Having a clear and eye-catching logo as well as a concise strap line about what your company does is key. Utilising colours that match your brand for the stand or giveaways also looks effective and unified. I’ve pulled together a few statistics on the importance of colour in association with your brand in the handy infographic below! Having branded giveaways with a clear call to action is also fundamental. Some of the products given away by other exhibitors were beautiful and if I had picked one of them up, I would be going back to that exhibitor in a heartbeat.

Speaking on behalf of the Customer Focus team I’d like to thank everyone that came to visit us on the stand. We all had an enjoyable and productive exhibition. I am looking forward to my next Trade Show and catching up with all our great customers and prospects all over again.
